When your circuit design skills become solid, you can really have some fun! Since the parts are functional, you can take an electronic device from your life and (safely!) add custom features and enhancements. Want a Halloween or Christmas sound and light show? Want to optically monitor a home beer brewing kit for two weeks during fermentation? The basic recipe is: design it on paper, build the circuit on the DEB, hook up new I/O, test it out.
Finding new ways to improve the world is what engineering is all about.
